DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
A native to Asheville, Deja Benton is a dedicated advocate for criminal justice reform and community empowerment. She holds an Associate in Applied Science in Criminal Justice Technology, a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, and is on track to earn her Master of Arts in Criminal Justice in May 2025.
With lived experience of incarceration and recovery, Deja brings both personal insight and professional expertise to her work. She has over three years of experience with Community Care of North Carolina as a case manager, along with a background in HR duties. As a Certified Community Health Worker and an aspiring Peer Support Specialist, she is committed to supporting individuals on their reentry and recovery journeys.
Beyond her professional work, Deja is a devoted mother to a four-year-old son and a firm believer that faith has guided her path. She strives daily to create meaningful change within the criminal justice system and the community she calls home.
