Advocate. Collaborate. Educate

The Advocate. Collaborate. Educate. (A.C.E.) Initiative is intended to slay the behavioral health stigma, especially as it relates to historically marginalized populations that are reentering their communities after periods of incarceration.

Community Impact Fund

FOR WHO?

Through advocacy, collaboration, and education that leverages lived experience, the A.C.E.  Initiative intends to strengthen tailored outreach by increasing the number or Certified Peer Support Specialists (CPSS) that have Community Health Worker training, increasing the number of recovery coach trainers at State Opioid Response (SOR) funded community agencies, and encourage the building of relationships with community leaders of historically marginalized populations.

SLAYING STIGMA & REDUCING RECIDIVISM

Additionally, the Initiative intends to increase linkage to harm reduction modalities, overdose prevention supports, behavioral health treatment services, physical health services, safe-housing options, and employment opportunities while reducing stigma and recidivism for formerly incarcerated citizens.

A RESOURCE

The A.C.E. Community Impact Fund (CIF) is a resource for community-based agencies and other stakeholders that offers, at both the organizational and individual level, learning opportunities intended to empower formerly incarcerated individuals to become Certified Peer Support Specialists (CPSS) and/or to support CPSS in becoming Community Health Workers (CHW) by enhancing skills in advocacy, team building, trauma-informed supports, motivational interviewing, and addressing social determinants of health. The CIF also offers learning opportunities to community members that, through either volunteer activities or paid employment, support the reentry of marginalized populations.
