I was born and raised in Lincolnton, NC. My parents were addicts on a mission! My mother gave me and my siblings up for adoption at a very young age. By the time I was 12, I began to use mind/mood altering substances and alcohol. Getting into trouble with the justice system became second nature as I would have been to county jail 40+ times, the Department of Corrections a total of 4 times with extensive lengths of time, and military boot camp. I was released from Prison in 2019 to Western North Carolina with nowhere to live and not a dollar in my pocket. Not to mention - without knowledge of any resources! In December of 2021 I found recovery! Since being a person in long-term recovery, I have obtained a NC Peer Support Certificate, Recovery Coach Certificate, and I have a Wrap Plan. I know what it's like to live with the disease of addiction and my purpose is to help people find their way out and help them to understand there is another way!
