Ending the SNAP Ban

  • 789 Merrimon Avenue Asheville, NC, 28804 United States (map)

Join us for a powerful evening dedicated to raising awareness and discussing the impact of the SNAP ban on individuals with felony drug convictions in North Carolina. The event will begin with a screening of a short documentary that explores the barriers and consequences of the current food assistance restrictions, highlighting real stories and the fight for change.

Following the screening, a panel of experts, advocates, and individuals impacted by the ban will engage in a meaningful discussion. The panel will address the challenges faced by affected communities and the upcoming efforts to end the SNAP ban in the state, including a bill set to be introduced by April 2025.

This is a free event, open to all. Come to learn, discuss, and contribute to the movement for food justice and fairer access to assistance for those seeking to rebuild their lives.
